Hello Friend,
Welcome to the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 700 web site. We're so glad you stopped by. Click on the links to the left to see what we've been up.
We are a proud organization of Combat Wounded veterans. We also have Associate Members (blood-line relative of a Purple Heart recipient) and volunteers.
Our chapter goals are to help our fellow veterans in any way that we can. Our main goal each year is to provide Christmas gifts to approximately 190 veterans who are living in the 19 nursing homes throughout Hunterdon and Warren counties. We choose a local veteran and their family in each county to help in some way. It may be groceries, home heating oil or maybe holiday gifts for their children. No matter what it is, they are always so appreciative. We will continue to participate in local educational events at our schools and colleges, we will place Purple Heart flags on our deceased member's graves, and we will take part in area holiday ceremonies and parades.
It is not easy for our chapter to handle all of these activities, but we do, and we do it with pride and dedication.
At this time, we do not receive funding from any outside organizations, so we must raise funds for our goals on our own, through local fund drives. This would include fundraising events at local grocery stores and our annual fund drive at the Phillipsburg Mall. All of the money received via donations goes back to our veterans, with the exception of a few expenses we incur (i.e., insurance).
If you are a Purple Heart recipient or know of one in our area who would like to join our chapter, please call Commander Ron Adams at 908-329-0010. Also, if you would like to join as an Associate Member or volunteer, please don't hesitate to call.
Some gave all, all gave some
